The acts
Carey Marx
Carey Marx has been a circuit favourite for years, mixing his own blend of dark humour with his mischievous and gleeful delivery.  His wilful disregard for the controversial and delicate is tempered beautifully by his ability to find joy in the most unexpected places. This  hilarious mix of edgy topics and playful gagsmithery can be seen at all the top clubs across the country with Marx regularly playing Jongleurs, Komedia and The Comedy Store and annually compering the largest festivals. Carey has taken numerous critically acclaimed shows to Edinburgh Festival Fringe over the years. His 2013 show, Intensive Carey, was so successful that it was picked up by BBC Radio 4 in 2015 and developed into a R4 special.

Alongside his stand up, Carey has recorded a popular weekly topical podcast with comedian Barry Castagnola, called The Proper Gander. The hilarious show has received 5 star reviews from listeners and is available through iTunes.

"Carey Marx is a criminally overlooked comedian. He's an extraordinarily talented stand-up who reaches into the genre's darkest corners with a tickling stick. Delivering his black thoughts with a cheeky smile, he is an endearing host and only those who want to be offended by what he's got to say will be offended by what he's got to say. The rest of us will be in stitches. He makes the world a better place." - Metro

“An evening in his company is nothing less than a joy” - The Independent on Sunday

Joe Wells
Joe Wells' writing career began when his first book 'Touch and Go Joe' about his experiences of OCD was published, since then he has made a name for himself as a stand up comic, writer and speaker. Joe now focuses mainly on his unique brand of comedy. He also co-hosts a nerdy music podcast called 'emergency mixtape' available from most podcast platforms.

Joe is a favourite amongst other comedians and has supported Frankie Boyle, Alexei Sayle and Stephen K Amos.

In 2020 Joe went viral with his stand up clip 'Joe Wells on having a non-autistic brother' which gained over 1.3 million views across Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.

"A star of the future... some of the most surprising and thought-provoking material coming from any comedian in his early 20s" - The Guardian

“Highly original, inspired and suitably different from the rest of the crowd… brilliantly crafted jokes” - Comedy Central
Ross Smith
Who is Comedian/writer/actor/worrier Ross Smith? Good question!

He is a regular face (and voice) at some of the country's top comedy clubs and appeared in Karl Pilkington sitcom 'sick of it'.

Joel Dommett described him as 'one of my favourite new acts', and Nish Kumar called his comedy 'hilarious and original'. (Lovely quotes from some up-and-coming lads).

In 2018 he made headlines around the world when he agreed to go on holiday with complete strangers, taking the place of another man called Ross Smith. His viral adventure and the aftermath is the subject of his debut Edinburgh show, I Am Ross Smith.

“Extremely Impressive, a great deal of promise from this young man.” - Arthur Smith

“Brilliant!- You know an act has confidence in his jokes when he laminates them!” - Jason Manford

“Smart and refreshingly clean material, Ross has the composure and likeability to go far.” - Julia Chamberlain, So You Think You're Funny?
