A century ago, the Museum received a ‘collection of curiosities’ that now forms the core of its celebrated European Peasant Art collection.

This collection was gathered through the travels of Reverend Gerald Stanley Davies, Master of Charterhouse, and by members of Haslemere’s own Arts and Crafts movement, the Peasant Artists, in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. This remarkable collection continues to attract visitors and scholars.
