The Haslemere Town band has been entertaining local audiences since 1837, as such we are one of the oldest if not the oldest local creative organisation in the Town and are keen to reach a wider audience and to attract more players. To this end in recent years we have worked with other local organisations to broaden our repertoire and profile.

This year's Haslemere Festival concert is the second in which we have joined forces with the St Bartholomew's Junior Choir, last year we also played alongside the British Forces Veteran's Show Band. In 2022 we provided the musical back ground to the Lynchmere Pageant. David Wright, our musical director also directs the Godalming Operatic Society whose members have joined us at our concerts in recent years.

We have also restarted our training band with some promising young players joining with their parents to play ahead of our main rehearsal on Wednesday evenings. We are hoping this year to link with Grayshott Concerts schools programme to give young players the opportunity to develop their skills in ensemble playing.

Anyone who has played a brass instrument before would be welcome to come to one of our rehearsals (training or main band) to give it a go, new talent, however rusty, is always welcome!
