Debut is a welcoming platform created to give new musicians and singers the chance to step on stage and showcase their talent. It’s a space for first performances, fresh sounds, and finding confidence through music. Becoming comfortable with performing means practising in front of an audience, and Debut offers a supportive, safe environment to do exactly that. The more musicians perform, the more their comfort zone grows — helping them discover not only their sound, but what they’re truly capable of. At Debut, courage matters more than perfection, and every new voice is encouraged to be heard.

Following the success of our first informal open mic night, at the legendary Lions Den in December 2025, where we enjoyed talent including opera, piano and violin from performers ranging from 3 to at least 43 (!), we — a small group of local parents — have come together to create a series of further musical showcases under the name Debut.

Our nights are open to performers of any age, any musical style, and any skill level. That said, we've partnered with Haslemere Fringe Festival, specifically for performers under the age of 18 who, we are incredilbly excited to announce, can use any one of our Debut nights listed below as an opportunity to audition for the chance to perform at the Fringe itself — taking that first brave step even further.

We invite you to come along and listen to new musicians or to perform yourself. This event is for performers of any age, any musical style and any skill level but all performers do need to be registered in advance. This event is also our first informal audition evening for under 18s to perform in our Debut showcase at Haslemere Fringe in July 2026.
