The Haslemere Gardening Society hosts a talk on the gardens of Hinton Ampner

A talk on "The Gardens of Hinton Ampner" from Chris Skinner, Head Gardener for the National Trust Hinton Portfolio at 7.45 pm.


Chris Skinner is Head Gardener for the Hinton portfolio managing two teams of gardeners across 3 sites:  Hinton Ampner a mid-20th century garden, house and landscape, designed as an arts and crafts style garden of rooms, containing a significant and diverse plant collection; Uppark, a 17th Century House with a 19th century garden and landscape designed by Repton; finally Winchester City Mill, one of the oldest working mills in the country with a unique island garden surrounded by the River Itchen and recently replanted with a climate-resilient sub-tropical planting scheme designed by students from Sparsholt College.


This talk is held at the Church Hall, Our Lady Of Lourdes, 21 Derby Road, Haslemere, Surrey (GU27 1BS), with entrance from Weydown Road. The talk begins at 7.45pm followed by tea, coffee, and discussion. Talks are free for members; visitors are welcome for a £5 fee.
