Congratulations to Haslemere's Clive Osgood, joint winner of The Bach Choir's Sir David Willcocks Carol Competition 2024!

Clive's winning carol is a setting of Hodie Christus Natus Est, written for eight-part choir. It conveys the excitement of the birth of Jesus, using music in dance-like seven time. It will receive its premiere at the Cadogan Hall as part of The Bach Choir's annual Carols at Cadogan concert on Wednesday 11th December.

Clive is currently Director of Music and Organist at the Parish Church of St Bartholomew’s in Haslemere. He has composed works for Excelsis Choir and The Tippett Quartet, the latter received its premiere earlier this year in Haslemere. Read more about his recordings here.

We have heard at This is Haslemere that this carol will also be performed in Haslemere on 21st December by the esteemed Queen's Six. Clive has adapted the carol specially for 6 parts.
