Local school pupil Evelyn used to be terrified of the pool when she was younger. So much so that her parents often had to coax her in with treats! But, since starting swimming lessons at the Haslemere Leisure Centre, her confidence has grown  enormously.

Evelyn has decided to combine her new love for swimming with a great cause. She has set herself the challenge of swimming 100 lengths to raise money for Camelsdale Primary School. In Evelyn's words, she wanted to 'give everyone a better experience in school' - she is hoping that the money she raises will be enough to fund a class trip next year or to purchase new learning resources for her Year 6 class.

Evelyn has been training super hard for her challenge. For the past six months, she’s been getting up early and swimming with her dad at six a.m. three times a week to make sure she will be able to complete her upcoming challenge.

The team at This is Haslemere think Evelyn is a local superstar, as do the Haslemere Leisure centre team and all the pupils at staff at her local primary school!

We wish her the very best of luck with her sponsored swim on Sunday 20th July.

If you would like to sponsor Evelyn, you can do so via her JustGiving page.
