Community Foundation for Surrey has shared the news that the Godalming and Haslemere Hospital Hoppa community transport service has been awarded a grant from the Borrows Charitable Trust Fund.
This money means they can continue to take people who are not able to use the regular bus service or a taxi to their essential health appointments at the Royal Surrey County Hospital, Haslemere Hospital, Milford Hospital, the doctors, opticians, dentist and more.
Waverley Hoppa Community Transport (Hoppa) is a vital service primarily for people who, due to age, disability, poverty, or rural isolation, find it difficult to use public transport.
Key details about Hoppa:
Services: Hoppa provides demand-responsive, door-to-door transport for everyday activities like shopping, social events, and medical appointments, including a dedicated 'Hospital Hoppa' service to medical facilities.
Accessibility: Nearly all of their buses are wheelchair accessible, and drivers are available to provide assistance, including help with steps via a tail lift or ramp.
Service Area: Services operate within the Borough of Waverley, covering areas such as Farnham, Godalming, Haslemere, Cranleigh, and surrounding villages.
Registration: To use the service, you need to register with Hoppa first. Registration is free and can be done via their website or by phone. This link gives more information about how to book Hoppa.
