The Friends of Haslemere Signal box have been busy over the past few weeks, restoring the building ready for its grand opening. Most recently, they have been decorating the offices above the Booking Hall which will be opening soon as a museum of railway memorabilia. Special thanks have to go to Brewers in Haslemere for donating the paint for this, to Joe Poulter for the plastering repairs and to Michael Thayre from Haslemere Decorators for their professional support.

A number of local businesses and organisations have also shown their support for this project, all playing their own part in making this possible. These include Couchman Hanson, Phil Bates, Spencer Marsh, David O'Brien, Bill Black, Network Rail, SWR, Hills to Harbour CRP, Community Rail Network, Middleton Press, Mike Lamport, the Permanent Way Institute, Sunville Rail, Dave Newman, Rod Sharp, Jon Hite and TeamBA. In addition, many local residents have kindly donated memorabilia which will be displayed in the Railway Memorabilia Museum.

Now the restoration has actively begun, the Trustees will soon be launching a Haslemere Signal Box membership scheme in addition to the Friends of Haslemere Signal Box. They are currently busy redesigning their website and, once live, it will include details of the membership scheme. We'll add the link here once available.
