If you were given a hand-knitted angel at the recent Haslemere Christmas Market, the chances are that it was knitted by this lovely lady, Eileen (centre). Here she is, receiving a thank you gift on behalf of Liza Caie and Justin Manley-Cooper from the Haslemere Churches team .
This year, as well as their infamous Bethlehem Nativity Photo Booth, the ‘Haslemere Churches Together’ team handed out over 700 angels, all hand-knitted by ladies associated with the Haslemere Methodist Church. One very special lady, Eileen, began knitting in February and had lovingly created 650 angels by December, all uniquely individual!
Liza Caie, from the Churches Together team, said, 'We wanted to bless the community with a little gift of Christmas joy and Eileen, along with the other wonderful ladies, brought our dream to life with their beautiful angels! We are incredibly grateful to them all and we hope that everyone who has an angel will enjoy having it in their home this Christmas.'
Well done Eileen and team! We loved this gesture of kindness and community.
