Holy Cross provides rehabilitation for people after serious illness, injury, or surgery - especially those with complex care needs arising from brain injuries or respiratory conditions.

Participating in activities provides patients with opportunities to push the limits of their rehabilitation. Social interactions also support emotional wellbeing and help patients feel connected.

It is thanks to volunteers that they can offer a wider range of activities to patients.

Whether you're looking to volunteer occasionally, complete a volunteering placement for your Duke of Edinburgh Award or become a regular part of their team, there's a place for you there.

Their volunteers span all age groups and bring a wide range of talents, hobbies, and life experiences. What they all share is a desire to do something that is meaningful and that's what makes them truly special.

Help needed

There are many ways to volunteer at Holy Cross. Here are just a few examples:

· Engage with patients through arts and crafts, music, games, ball games, puzzles, baking, quizzes, and other fun activities.

· Involve patients in community life by accompanying them on trips to local events such as festivals, theatre trips or a relaxing day at our seaside bungalow in Selsey.

· Provide practical skills such as driving our patient minibus or taking patients to and from the wards and activities room.

· Create live music experiences at our Friday afternoon concert. We are looking for musical talent to bring the benefits of live music to our patients.

· Help with gardening and simple maintenance.

· Fundraise and help with marketing.

· Take on basic admin jobs.

· Help to feed patients.
