Britain in Bloom inspires community groups in towns, cities and villages to make positive changes to their local environment through horticultural, environmental and community action. Whether you walk or drive from St. Christipher’s Green along Wey Hill upto Junction Place, you will notice planters, flower beds, flower troughs and hanging baskets the length of the hill, in and around Haslewey and at Junction Place. These beautiful and striking displays are planted out and maintained by the team of volunteers at Wey Hill In Bloom with support from local business workers.

In November 2025, the volunteers at Wey Hill In Bloom heard that they had received two Royal Horticultural Society Britain In Bloom awards for 2025. They were granted a Level 4 category in “It’s Your Neighbourhood” (measured 1 – 5 with 5 being the highest) and a Silver Gilt award for “In Our Community”.

Ken Griffiths said, “Both of these are tremendous honours and reflect the commitment of our volunteers to brighten up the areas in and around Wey Hill and Junction Place. The picture shows the volunteers out in November 2025 who planted 4,000 crocus bulbs holding the two awards.”
