Haslemere Art Society member, Jane Larkin, captures Haslemere in pen and ink
Local artist and member of Haslemere Art Society, Jane Larkin, has captured the essence of Haslemere High Street in pen and ink, with a digitally added background fade. The work is 10.5 x 16.0 cm.
Jane was inspired by a Haslemere Art Society Plein Air event, although she declares she spent the morning by the window in Hemingways Cafe drinking coffee.
Included in this artwork are bits of Haslemere's High Street buildings, the Town Hall, the memorial cross, part of the Haslemere coat of arms (stag with beacon), butterflies from the wonderful Haslemere Museum butterfly collection, scissors for the hairdressers, cup and saucer for the cafés, the green Penfold letterbox, a deer and some pigeons.
Haslemere Art Society presents Haslemere, An Exhibition Inspired By Our Wonderful Town. The exhibition poster features Jane Larkin's pen and ink drawing. It runs from 9th to 24th May.
