F⁶IT is a local charity helping disabled children and young people aged 0–25, alongside their families and friends, to get active, connect and have fun. We provide inclusive and accessible sports, leisure activities, clubs and family events, creating opportunities for families to spend time together, build friendships and enjoy activities in a welcoming, non-judgemental environment.

We’re looking for volunteers to help us make more of these opportunities possible. Whether you enjoy sport, working with children and young people, or helping behind the scenes, there are lots of ways to get involved and make a real difference to local families.

We welcome volunteers aged 14 and over, including Duke of Edinburgh Award participants, students and adults of all ages.

Volunteering opportunities include:

Supporting children and young people to participate in inclusive sports, leisure activities and clubs. Volunteering for Physios, OTs and SALTs - to support inclusion and adaptations of our activities.

Helping set up activities, encouraging participation and creating a friendly, welcoming environment.

Using your professional skills to support our work, or helping with administration, communications, fundraising and other tasks behind the scenes.

You don’t need previous experience of disability to volunteer with us.

We provide training and guidance, cover the cost of required Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks, and provide a volunteer uniform where appropriate.

We welcome people who are enthusiastic, reliable, inclusive and willing to learn. Opportunities vary, and we’re happy to discuss how your skills, interests and availability could fit with our needs.
