A charity passionate about improving the lives of cats and kittens in the Surrey area
About
Cats Protection Haslemere has three main objectives: Finding good homes for cats in need, supporting and encouraging the neutering of cats and improving people's understanding of cats and their care. The Haslemere Adoption Centre accepts Cats for re-homing from Local Cats Protection Branches, other feline rescue organisations as well as from the general public. Cats coming into their care are given a thorough assessment and any necessary veterinary treatments are then carried out. Staff at the Cats Protection Adoption Centre in Haslemere work very hard to reduce any stress levels the cat may have and will then seek to match individual cats with a new and loving long term home. Cats Protection Haslemere pride themselves on the love and care given to all their resident cats and kittens. However, they recognise that they can not always provide the levels of love, comfort and security found in a real home. As a result, they aim to match their cats with the right long term homes. This may be with a family with children, an older person who needs a companion, or with a rural home that needs mousers! Since a single female cat can reproduce more than 100 kittens during her life, Cats Protection also champions the practise of neutering as the only effective way to reduce the number of unwanted cats in the UK. Haslemere Adoption Centre neuters kittens around the age of 9 - 10 weeks. Neutering at this age is safe and ethical.
