Girl guiding groups in Haslemere open to girls aged 4-18
About
Haslemere Girl Guides are groups enabling young girls to make new friends, have amazing adventures and learn new skills. All groups help girls to know that they can do anything. Rainbows are for 4-7 year olds, Brownies for 7-10 year olds, Guides for 10-14 year olds and Rangers for 14-18 year olds. There are a number of girlguiding groups in Haslemere and the surrounding villages.
Help Needed
Each week, volunteers at Haslemere Girl Guides help young girls gain skills and confidence for life through activities and adventures. Volunteering with them offers the opportunity to work directly with young people aged 4 to 18. There are a variety of ways in which volunteers can help. They may be welcoming young people and families to weekly sessions and events or they may be able to help plan and lead activities. Volunteers can also get involved with days out, camps and expeditions. Volunteering is also a great way to share your skills with others. Volunteers do not need prior experience. Training will be provided. Volunteers can also build their own skills by taking the Girlguiding leadership development qualification, becoming a first aider or a qualified outdoor activity instructor. Anyone aged 13 or over can be a volunteer. There are roles to suit all ages and interests. Whilst some roles are women only roles, there are opportunities for men too. By volunteering with Girlguides, you’ll be helping girls build their confidence, have adventures and learn new skills. It doesn’t matter what your experience or background is, or how much time you have.
