Haslemere Signal Box Educational Charitable Incorporated Organisation
The trust, formed under the umbrella of Haslemere Community Station, is the driving force of the signal box preservation project, the proposed railway memorial garden and the growing collection of railwayana assembled by members and destined for future public display.
The trust works closely with Network Rail, South Western Railway and the Community Rail Network.
Formal recognition by the Charity Commission was announced on Monday, 16 December 2024.
The Trust is now at the stage of asking for volunteers to help, firstly in decorating the Museum and then fitting it out with the artefacts to be displayed. We will be starting the refurbishment of the museum early in 2026 and as soon as we have the permission from NR, we will be starting the refurbishment of the Signal Box.
As well as specialists, we are looking for people with good DIY skills to help in the following areas, preparing the Museum and Signal Box for refurbishment, painting the walls and woodwork, plastering, electrical work, plumbing and kitchen fitting.
