Help Needed

The Haslewey relies on a a team of dedicated volunteers to help run the community centre. They have a variety of volunteering opportunities. For all roles, full training is provided. People can choose to volunteer either on a regular or occasional cover basis. Reception volunteers sit on the reception desk and are the face of The Haslewey. They help with telephone enquiries, book appointments, greet customers and give a warm welcome to visitors. Volunteers are also needed to help run the Wey Terrace and cafe. Open from 9am to 3pm, Monday to Friday, the cafe is a place for people of all ages and from all walks of life. Volunteer roles at the cafe include the setting up and clearing down of the dining room, waiting on tables and the making and serving of drinks. Volunteers are also required to assist in the kitchen either with the food preparation or the washing up! Volunteers can also join the fundraising committee at The Haslewey. This committee organises and runs events to raise funds for the community centre. Volunteers are also needed to assist the fundraising committee at events. Roles include waiters, bar staff, stewards, ticket sellers and much more. Finally, since The Haslewey needs constant maintenance, volunteers who have experience with plumbing, electrics, carpentry or other practical skills, are also very welcome. As a thank you for their support, Haslewey offers all their volunteers a 10% discount at the café.
