About
Hoppa is a cost effective transportation service for people who are unable to access ordinary transport for reasons of infirmity, disability, vulnerability or isolation. The Hoppa service has two scheduled routes as part of their Hoppa Shoppa service. These operate on a Tuesday and Thursday. The first (504) connects Beacon Hill, Shottermill and Haslemere. The secons (505) connects Northchapel, Haslemere and Shottermill. Valid bus passes are accepted or the cost is £4 adult return or £2 adult single. Children under the age of 16 can use the service for £1 for a single journey or £2 for a return fare. There is no need to book for this scheduled service. There are also three dial a ride Hoppa services which cover Godalming, Cranleigh and Haslemere. Users can book to be picked up and dropped off from anywhere within the zone they live in. (The borough has been divided into four different zones by Hoppa). Popular destinations include local supermarkets, the library, day centres and town centre locations. The service can be used by anybody who does not have access to other means of transport, who lives in the Waverley area and who has registered their details with the Hoppa service. It costs £3 to travel each way on the dial a ride service. It operates from 9 am onwards Monday to Friday. The service does not operate at weekends or on bank holidays. Visit the Hoppa website at https://hoppa.org.uk/how-to-book/ to register or to make a booking. The Hospital Hoppa needs to be pre-booked. This provides transport from your door to health facilities in Guildford, Godalming and Haslemere. This costs £12.50 each way with an additional cost of £2.50 for a carer / companion. It operates between the hours of 8 am and 6 pm. Hoppa group travel can be arranged at a cost of £40 per hour.
Help Needed
Waverley Hoppa are currently in search of a new Finance Trustee. After 15 years of service, the existing Finance Trustee is retiring. They are looking for someone new who can bring experience of financial accounting, book-keeping and management to the role. Experience with charity accounting would be preferable but is not essential. They hope to appoint someone to the role soon in order to provide a structured handover before the existing trustee retires.
