Enhancing Weyhill and Junction place through he planting of flowers
About
Weyhill in Bloom is a group of volunteers whose aim is to enhance the the areas of Wey Hill and Junction Place in Haslemere. Ever stopped by the traffic lights near Tesco and wondered who’s responsible for all the beautiful flowers pouring out of the troughs? It’s Weyhill in Bloom we have to thank for over 35 stunning hanging-baskets, troughs and bay tree planters dotted up and down Wey Hill and Junction Place. Their busy team work throughout the year, but particularly in the summer months when the pots need planting up, watering and dead-heading to keep them lasting longer.
Help Needed
Ken Griffiths heads up a team of volunteers. During the drier Spring and Summer months, a team of volunteers are needed to water the plants twice a week. Volunteers are also needed to help with planting and dead heading of flowers. They can be contacted via their (very colourful) Facebook page. Even if you just have the odd 10 minutes to spare, a lot of flowers can be dead-headed in that time!
