Art Commissions

I originally trained as a Printed Textile designer, graduating in the mid 90’s from Derby University with a BA (Hons) in Printed Textile Design. My end of degree show was themed on tasteful, sexy lingerie and corsetry, which I LOVED doing and have received many compliments on since.

After a short career break, raising my two little monkeys, I mean my two gorgeous but rather full on boys, I started drawing again and found I still have the same passion that I had as a student 20 yrs ago. My husband converted my studio, where I now totally lose myself for hours / days on end, combining my two greatest passions – art and fashion. My portfolio currently consists of wedding dresses (and the grooms clothing), fantastic shoes, loved handbags, sassy lingerie and the occasional fashion model images for special invites.

My style has changed (some may say matured?) since my Uni days. I love texture, colour and embellishment and capturing it in my drawings via different mediums including pen, ink, pencil, pastels, acrylics, gouache, a bit of bling and I love experimenting with new mediums whenever inspiration hits.

I am an unabashed fashionista, keeping up to date with latest trends in my monthly Vogue and weekly Grazia mags!

My commissions are so varied, I have completed illustrations for businesses, for their marketing, greeting card design or business card design, family homes with their family walking towards their homes, family Christmas card designs, personal bespoke words, drawings of everything the individual loves & has done in their lives so far. I draw almost anything except faces, if you are looking for a portrait artist then sadly I’m not the one for you.

I have produced some products; aprons, mugs, bags, tea towels and I will design some new products very soon as they have been very popular. I also sell greetings cards, Christmas, children’s and adult cards.

Starting a new business is very exciting although a little daunting and fitting it around the boys is a challenge. I will always find time to draw though and it's a wonderful way for me to focus and escape.

Enjoy my work and if you have any queries or constructive criticism I would love to hear from you.

Interview with Ian Rowley, owner of The Haslemere Bookshop The Haslemere Bookshop is an independent bookshop at the heart of Haslemere High Street selling new and second-hand books, and cards. Did you face any challenges when setting up the business? There has been a bookshop on the High Street for many years. When I took over the shop from Ronald Timms in 2014, I had no idea how a bookshop worked; fortunately the staff (all friends or family) did! Since then, through their hard work, the business has been transformed. Not only does the shop look very different but we are online, more community focussed and our second-hand book section rejuvenated.
