Haslemere Air Cadets
offer young people from all walks of life a chance to get active, learn new skills and make new friends in an inspirational and safe environment.
How they work:
The Haslemere Air Cadets meet twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 pm to 9.30 pm. They get involved in a wide variety of activities including flying, guiding, target shooting, adventure training, camps, drill, sports, academic studies and more.
Cadets need to be 12 to join and usually leave aged 18. Some senior cadets may be able to remain a member until their 20th birthday. The latest age you can join is 17.
How to help:
Volunteers need to be aged 20 years or more and have lived in the UK for a minimum of 3 years. Volunteers need to be kind, patient and responsible, have a good level of fitness and to be able to understand young people and their needs. Prior military experience is not required, nor are relevant skills such as flying or gliding.
All the training you need will be provided as will uniforms.
While volunteers don’t get paid, if volunteers progress to be an officer or non-commissioned officer, they can claim for up to 28 days’ volunteer allowance.
