How they work:
There are seven local Scout Groups (young people aged 6-14 years) and 2 Explorer Scout groups (14-18 years) in Haslemere and the surrounding villages.
How to help:
Each week, volunteers at Haslemere & District Scouts, Cubs and Beavers help young people gain skills for life through activities and adventures. Volunteering with them offers the opportunity to work directly with young people aged 4 to 18. However, with over 100 youngsters on waiting lists for Haslemere's various Beaver, Cubs and Scouts sections, many more volunteers are needed.
There are a variety of ways in which volunteers can help. They may be welcoming young people and families to weekly sessions and events or they may be able to help plan and lead activities. Volunteers can also get involved with days out, camps and expeditions. Volunteering is also a great way to share your skills with others.
Volunteers do not need prior experience. Training will be provided.
