The League of Friends
was formed in 1952. It helps the Haslemere Hospital be providing additional equipment, improving facilities and campaigning for better services for patients and staff.
The Haslemere & District Community Hospital serves a population of over 40,000, including residents of Haslemere, Liphook, Grayshott, Witley, Fernhurst and beyond. It provides the community with a minor injuries unit, a blood testing unit, two wards (one for male and one for female patients), ultrasound and X-ray facilities, a full range of physiotherapy, OT and podiatry services and out patient clinics.
How they work:
The role of the League of Friends is to raise the profile of the hospital, to raise funds, to act as a focus between hospital and community and to act as a pressure group to prevent losses of essential community services. They also run a trolley shop in the hospital wards, provide an annual newsletter and provide regular newsletter updates to members.
How to help:
The League of Friends relies on the support of the community and is always pleased to hear from those who wish to join, to become a volunteer, or indeed serve on the Committee.
