Fine Art Portrait Photographer

I am a portrait maker. A visual artist. I use magic.

Born and raised in rural Canada, Heather had no shortage of space or inspiration to grow a passion for photography from an early age.  Roaming the family farm with her grandfather’s Minolta in hand, Heather fell in love with observation.  She would hide in the tall grasses, fascinated by how the light would move through the blades as they swayed in the wind.  Inside the house, Heather was introduced to the art of story telling as she sat outside her mother’s hair salon, observing the entire population of her small town ebb and flow past her breakfast table, nurturing a desire to understand others’ narratives and how they impacted her own perspectives, a central theme to her photography.

A move to London, UK in 2005 led to a surprisingly colourful career in Public Relations, Branding & Communications.  This commercial experience allowed her to see how she might shift her passions for creating narratives to serve her own clients. In 2010, Heather moved to Dubai and set up her studio, building a client base to focus on her own love for portrait making and aesthetically driven visual storytelling.

Having moved back to the UK in 2015,  Heather is honoured to collaborate with all of her clients, from local families to international brands and agencies. She’s always excited when projects allow her to meet new people and explore new subjects and places.

At her core, Heather is an artist and a lover of people. Add to this an endless energy and creative determination, its no surprise she delivers beautiful, aspirational images for her clients.

Interview with Ian Rowley, owner of The Haslemere Bookshop The Haslemere Bookshop is an independent bookshop at the heart of Haslemere High Street selling new and second-hand books, and cards. Did you face any challenges when setting up the business? There has been a bookshop on the High Street for many years. When I took over the shop from Ronald Timms in 2014, I had no idea how a bookshop worked; fortunately the staff (all friends or family) did! Since then, through their hard work, the business has been transformed. Not only does the shop look very different but we are online, more community focussed and our second-hand book section rejuvenated.
