Premium ciders from local, donated apples.

The Garden Cider Company was created in 2010 by Ben and Will Filby. The idea is simple, we make a range of hand crafted premium ciders sourced entirely from local, donated garden apples.

Each year we have over 4000 local households who bring us their spare garden fruit and in return receive a share of the cider made back for free. We are proud to take an abundant, largely wasted natural resource and turn it into sustainable, ethical and quality products.

We make a range of 8 craft ciders; 'Surrey' apple cider, Plum & Ginger, Elderflower, Raspberry & Rhubarb, Wild Strawberry, Berry & Cherry, Dry Hopped and Blueberry.

We also stock a large range of craft beer from our good friends, Crafty Brewing, Twickenham Fine Ales, Pilgrim Brewery and Langhams.

Covid permitting, we will resume tours, tastings, cider picnics and our popular training days in Spring 2021.

Interview with Ian Rowley, owner of The Haslemere Bookshop The Haslemere Bookshop is an independent bookshop at the heart of Haslemere High Street selling new and second-hand books, and cards. Did you face any challenges when setting up the business? There has been a bookshop on the High Street for many years. When I took over the shop from Ronald Timms in 2014, I had no idea how a bookshop worked; fortunately the staff (all friends or family) did! Since then, through their hard work, the business has been transformed. Not only does the shop look very different but we are online, more community focussed and our second-hand book section rejuvenated.
