The Haslemere Festival is a series of events that take place across a two week period each May along with a couple of seasonal events at other times of the year. These include:
How they work:
The Haslemere Arts Festival is a series of classical, jazz, folk, opera, choral, dance and orchestral concerts. It is also includes a number of talks.
The Classic Car Tour and Show takes place in May on Lion Green. Each year, approximately 250 pre-1980 vehicles whether veteran, vintage or classic are on display. Visitors will also find stalls selling local produce, crafts, art, vintage and classic car related goods. And there is always a good selection of food and drink vendors too.
The Little Lumpy Cycling Sportive is a not-for-profit cycle ride. Starting from Woolmer Hill, cyclists can choose from 4 different cycle routes ranging from 40 to 127 miles in length. Monies raised are distributed between Haslemere Festival and an elected partner charity. Riders can enjoy a warm welcome and home baked cakes at numerous feeding stations dotted around the course.
The Haslemere Food Festival takes place on Lion Green every September. It showcases the best local food and drink producers.
The Haslemere Christmas Market takes place on Haslemere High Street on the first Sunday in December.
How to help:
The Haslemere Festival events are dependent on a network of volunteers from the local community and beyond.
Volunteers are vital to the vibrancy and smooth running of all events. These events require event marshals, litter pickers, bartenders, stewards, ticket sellers and more. The Little Lumpy Cycling Sportive also relies on an army of volunteer bakers!
