A specialist hospital for people with very complex medical needs

Holy Cross Hospital is a specialist hospital for people with very complex medical needs. These needs have often been caused by an acquired brain injury or a serious neurological condition.  They help people with severe disabilities and long term conditions to achieve the best possible quality of life.

How they work:

Holy Cross Hospital provides a comfortable, homely environment for 42 patients. These patients are highly dependent and require very detailed care plans, skilled care and treatment. The hospital team provides professional specialist services in a friendly, safe and calm environment.

Holy Cross Hospital has a physiotherapy centre with a well-equipped gym as well as a hydrotherapy pool for outpatients.

How to help:

Volunteers at Holy Cross Hospital support patients to engage in a variety of activities including art, music, gardening, quizzes and puzzles, either for leisure or as therapy or rehabilitation.

Volunteers also drive the minibus to take patients on shopping excursions, on trips to the theatre or to their seaside bungalow at Selsey.

Holy Cross Hospital was set up by the Congregation of the Daughters of the Cross of Liege. This is a Registered Charity No. 1068661. If you would like to make a monetary donation, please contact them directly.

Since then, through their hard work, the business has been transformed. Not only does the shop look very different but we are online, more community focussed and our second-hand book section rejuvenated.
