Welcome to The Lion's Den café

We are a proudly local and fiercely independent good times café. Designed and built by ourselves we take great pride in our creation and warmly welcome everyone that visits.

Serving an all day homemade brunch menu with a superb range of sweet and savoury counter food.
We really do use the finest and where possible local ingredients, our menu is unique, and we have a superb selection of vegetarian and vegan offerings. Our award-winning coffee is hand roasted by our friends at Moonroast in Hampshire, and our Peru blend is simply the best.

Licensed, we have a handpicked selection of our favourite wines, ales and craft beers. We host regular evening socials with an eclectic menu and good music. The Den is available to host private functions and makes a casual retreat with full bar and catering services available.

Interview with Ian Rowley, owner of The Haslemere Bookshop The Haslemere Bookshop is an independent bookshop at the heart of Haslemere High Street selling new and second-hand books, and cards. Did you face any challenges when setting up the business? There has been a bookshop on the High Street for many years. When I took over the shop from Ronald Timms in 2014, I had no idea how a bookshop worked; fortunately the staff (all friends or family) did! Since then, through their hard work, the business has been transformed. Not only does the shop look very different but we are online, more community focussed and our second-hand book section rejuvenated.
