7 steps to get ready for Google’s page experience update

Apr 26, 2021

Discover how Google’s new update will impact your website

If the idea of digging into Google’s tech confuses you – don’t worry. This is a jargon-free guide for anyone with a website, even if you have no idea how it was built!

This June Google will release an update to its systems, called page experience.

It’s designed to help the search giant better understand the experience people have on each website. Google will be examining your site in detail, including how long pages take to load and whether it can be viewed on a mobile.

By improving your site you’ll make it more appealing for visitors, which could help boost your ranking in search results. The sites that fail to offer a great page experience could eventually drop down on Google’s results pages.

To help you understand the upcoming changes, I’ve created a simple seven step guide. It explains what’s changing and why, what you can do to your site, and the benefits this will bring.

Interview with Ian Rowley, owner of The Haslemere Bookshop The Haslemere Bookshop is an independent bookshop at the heart of Haslemere High Street selling new and second-hand books, and cards. Did you face any challenges when setting up the business? There has been a bookshop on the High Street for many years.
